The “Active Living” event will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Saimaa Stadiumi. The event brings together various organizations under one roof to showcase local hobbies and leisure activities. Approximately 50 participants from Mikkeli, including associations, clubs, and organizations from the fields of sports, culture, social and health services, and preventive work, will be present.
The purpose of the event is to offer a wide range of local activities for those considering a new hobby, as well as to enhance cooperation between the participants. Visitors will have the opportunity to try out different hobbies at interactive booths, so it’s recommended to wear clothing suitable for activities like fencing, dancing, and acrobatics. Activities include batting practice, shooting pucks, gymnastics, archery, music playgroups, precision throwing games, and raffles. During the event, Bistro Sisu, the restaurant at Saimaa Stadiumi, will offer special deals. Additionally, visitors can take advantage of the beautiful nearby Kalevankangas trails for a walk or a stair climb, making it easy to combine the event with a workout. Admission to the Active Living event is free, and there are activities for all age groups. The event is organized by the Sports Services and General Cultural Services of the City of Mikkeli.
