Kaihu beach is located close to the Mikkeli center. The beach has a playground, beach-volley court, a pier and jumping tower.

During the summer you can take a walk in one of Kalevankangas 3 nature paths. The selection has a 2.8km “Bear Cub” route, a 4.2 “Shortcut of the bear” route and a 6,2km “Bear’s trail” route.

Kalevankangas ski trails offer several options for cross country skiing. There are multiple well-maintained, illuminated ski trails that connect to each other and skiers can choose from 2,8km, 5km and 10 km depending on the level of challenge they wish to take on.

Along the routes is a lean-to shelter, where skiers can rest and even have a snack. The shelter has a woodshed, rubbish bin and a campfire spot. There is not road connection to the shelter, so the only way to get there is by ski in winter and by foot in summer.

The Pankalampi beach is 1km away from the Mikkeli market square. Known for its clean waters and beautiful scenery, Pankalampi is an amazing place for a swim, have a picnic or play beach-volley. During the winter you can also try out ice swimming at Pankalampi by contacting Mikkelin Avantouimarit ry.
