The heavy rain in Mikkeli on Tuesday, September 3rd, has caused flood damage across the city. The flooding has also resulted in damage to several City of Mikkeli properties.
Water has entered the interiors of the following locations. The potential damage, as well as its extent and severity, is being investigated.
- Urheilupuisto maintenance building
- Päämaja school
- Lähemäki school
- Mikaeli Concert Hall
- Naisvuori swimming hall
- City administration building
- Muisti Centre of War and Peace
Damage inspections are currently underway. The city will provide further updates on the situation and the extent of the water damage after the emergency meeting on Wednesday.
