The Pride event will open at Kirkkopuisto Park at 1:00 PM, from where the Pride march will proceed to the Tykkipuisto park celebration. After the main event, there will be youth afterparties at Nuorisotila Starlight and adult afterparties at Wilhelm Public House.
This year, the focus is also on sparking discussion about ongoing equality work in Mikkeli. As part of the park celebration, a panel discussion will be held where representatives from various organizations will talk about how they promote equality within their own institutions. The discussion will be held in Finnish.
The event has been planned and organized by young people from Mikkeli. Mikkeli Pride 2025 continues the momentum sparked by last year’s revitalized event – many of the same contributors are involved again. The event is organized by Etelä-Savo Pride ry and a group of volunteers. Supporters and enablers include the City of Mikkeli, Mölnlycke Health Care, Mikkeli Youth Council, Xamk, Kulttuuripaja Kajo, the “Yhdessä osallistuen” project, and Brooklyn Brewery.
Mikkeli Pride is a human rights event that promotes equality and equity, and serves as a meeting place for minorities and all residents of Mikkeli. It is a full-day, family-friendly event open to everyone who wants to support equality and wellbeing in Mikkeli.
