Thursday, 4 June is the Flag Day of the Finnish Defence Forces. It is also the birthday of Marshal Mannerheim.
The Mannerheim Saloon Car maintained by the City of Mikkeli Museums will be open to the public on this day. It is the only day of the year when the Saloon Car is accessible to visitors. Admission is free, and the Saloon Car can be visited on 4 June between 10:00 and 17:00.
The Saloon Car, located at Mikkeli railway station, was used by Mannerheim from 1939 to 1946. It includes a salon, five sleeping cabins, as well as a kitchen and a lavatory.
