The role of museums is to preserve, store and promote local material and visual cultural heritage by carrying out research, education, exhibitions and publications, and providing a wide range of visual arts services.

Night of the Museums
October 24, from 5 PM to 11 PM
The City of Mikkeli’s Museums and Cultural Services will host Night of the Museums on Friday of the autumn holiday week (Oct 24) from 5 PM to 11 PM — a free event for everyone (except for the Centre of War and Peace Muisti, which charges a €10 exhibition fee).
This year’s event features four museums and several side locations. The Museums participating this year are: Infantry Museums, Mikkeli Art Museum, Muisti Center of War and Peace & The Headquarters Museum and Suur-Savo Museum.
Collect stamps from the participating venues on your stamp card and enter a raffle to win a Museum Card and other prize packages!
