Lumme libraries
The Mikkeli Regional Library is part of the Lumme Libraries system of the municipalities in South Savo.
The municipalities in the Lumme system include the city and municipal libraries of Enonkoski, Juva, Joroinen, Mäntyharju, Pieksämäki, Rantasalmi, Savonlinna and Varkaus.
The Lumme libraries have a shared material and registered user database, online library, rules and fees.
Mikkeli Regional Library and local libraries
In addition to the main library in Mikkeli, there are nine local libraries offering library services.
The main library is located in the centre of Mikkeli and the local libraries are in Anttola, Haukivuore, Hirvensalmi, Kuort, Otava, Pertunmaa, Puumala, Ristiina and Suomenniemi.
You will find the library’s collection of materials, equipment and public spaces for the use of its customers. The wide range of books, newspapers and magazines, music and films are available. Users also have access to digital materials, electronic publications and databases.
The library is a good place to read, study, work, spend time, meet friends or hold meetings. It offers guidance and advice and free access to exhibitions and events on the library’s premises.
