When you become unemployed, follow these steps
If you become unemployed or are laid off, register as a jobseeker no later than your first day of unemployment. You can also register earlier if you know the date your employment will end.

Fill in your information carefully. Make sure your employment history, education and contact details are accurate.
Be as specific as possible about your current situation – for example, if you are leaving employment, studying or self-employed. Providing detailed information will help speed up the processing of your case.
If you are unable to use the online service, you can register as a jobseeker by completing the attached form and submitting it in person at one of our service locations.
Please remember to bring your identity card and residence permit.

After registration
Once you have registered as a jobseeker, we will assess your eligibility for unemployment allowance. Employment Services will send a statement to your unemployment allowance provider, who will use it to determine whether you qualify for benefits and the amount you may receive.
You may receive unemployment allowance starting from the date you register as a jobseeker.
